The Secret

Tactility Factory continues to draw on the Research, Development and Testing potential of the University context.

Tactility Factory was co-founded by Trish Belford (textiles) and Ruth Morrow (architecture) Each partner has had successful careers straddling industry, design and academia. Belford and Morrow are Directors of Tactility Factory.

Belford originated Belford Prints in London (1986) a unique textile company supplying to highend fashion market. (eg Vivienne Westwood, Jasper Conran) this aspect of commercial innovation and managing a small company (30 employees) is invaluable in the development of Tactility Factory.
Qualifying as an architect (1989), Morrow works as an architect and academic. Her profile is framed by an entrepreneurial and collaborative approach and she has been Professor of Architecture firstly at the University of Ulster and more recently at Queens University Belfast.

Both Directors bring their knowledge and networks from their respective disciplines and share a desire to innovate beyond their territories.

Caroline McGoran from UUtech (link) acts as non-executive Director to Tactility Factory. She has a background in venture capital and business development and has previous experience as non-executive director on several start-up and well-established companies. Caroline brings business and management experience to Tactility Factory.
